STATEWIDE COALITION APPLAUDS U.S. AND CANADIAN GOVERNMENTS FOR APPROVING PLAN 2014 TO PROTECT UPSTATE ECONOMY AND ENVIRONMENT.

The current system of managing water levels and flow for Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River has been in place for more than 50 years, and is slowly killing the lake’s ecosystem. Plan 2014 offers us the opportunity to reverse the devastating consequences for the environment, property owners, and industries — like tourism and hunting/fishing — that rely on a healthy lake. Plan 2014 will restore Lake Ontario and help revitalize the communities on the shoreline.
